Trommel Screen

Xinhai's trommel screen classifies crushed ore using a rotating cylindrical drum lined with screen panels. The feed end is elevated so material advances with the drum rotation. Fines fall through the openings into a chute, and oversize exits the discharge end.

Technical parameters

It sits after a jaw crusher to scalp fines, or in a washing circuit to scrub clay. Because it rotates rather than shakes, it handles sticky ore without blinding.

The model table covers a range of drum diameters and lengths, allowing selection for different throughputs. Mesh size sets the cut point, while motor power increases with drum size. Comparing the parameter columns helps match a unit to the required feed rate and the target product size.

Before selecting a model, define the feed particle size distribution, the target screen cut point, and the required hourly throughput. Note the ore moisture and clay content, as high stickiness favours a trommel over a vibrating screen. Also confirm the installation footprint, as drum length increases with capacity.
