Magnetic Separation Equipment
Electromagnetic Iron Separator
An electromagnetic iron separator removes unwanted ferrous metal from material carried on a conveyor belt. It generates a magnetic field that attracts tramp iron, pulling it out of the material stream to protect crushers, screens and mills from damage.
Technical parameters
Installed above a conveyor, the separator is typically placed after the primary crusher or before sensitive downstream equipment. It works continuously, discharging collected iron at intervals without stopping the belt.
The model table lists eight sizes, each defined by belt width, suspension height, magnetic field strength, material depth, excitation power, belt speed and weight. As model number increases, these parameters scale to suit wider belts and deeper material burdens. Select a model matching the conveyor dimensions and tramp iron characteristics.
| Model | Applicable Belt Width (mm) | Rated Suspension Height (mm) | Magnetic Field Strength (≥mT) | Material Thickness (≤ mm) | Excitation Power (≤ kW) | Applicable Belt Speed (≤ m/s) | Weight (kg) |

Standard-model catalogue figures. Actual capacity, power draw and wear life shift with ore properties, feed gradation and circuit conditions. Use them to shortlist, then confirm the duty by testwork, flowsheet calculation and a written confirmation from the manufacturer.
What decides the selection
Before selecting a model, determine the conveyor belt width, belt speed, maximum lump size and depth of the material burden. Also identify the magnetic properties and size of the tramp iron to be removed. The suspension height available and the required magnetic field strength guide the appropriate model from the table. Environmental conditions such as temperature and dust may also influence the choice.
