Electromagnetic Slurry Magnetic Separator
The electromagnetic slurry magnetic separator uses a controlled electromagnetic field to separate paramagnetic minerals from non-magnetic gangue in a wet slurry. It handles fine particles and is suitable for cleaning, scalping, or iron removal duties.
Technical parameters
In a typical flowsheet, the machine sits after classification and before dewatering or flotation. It can treat rougher concentrates or scavenger tailings, depending on the ore’s magnetic susceptibility and the target product grade.
The model table lists the main variables that change with separator size: effective width and length of the magnetic plate, magnetic field strength, and acceptable feed conditions. Selecting a model requires matching these variables to the tonnage, liberation size, and slurry properties of the duty.

What decides the selection
Before specifying a model, define the ore’s magnetic susceptibility, the target grade and recovery, the particle size distribution of the feed, and the desired slurry throughput. Confirm the available water supply pressure and the acceptable feed concentration range. This data allows Xinhai engineers to recommend the correct separator size and field strength.
